I am a graduate of the University of Thessaly School of Medicine. After obtaining my medical specialty certification in “Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism,” I began my doctoral dissertation at the Academic Medical Center of the University of Amsterdam. I defended my dissertation, “Early stages of thyroid autoimmunity: follow-up studies in the Amsterdam AITD cohort,” in 2012.
From 2014 to 2022, I worked in Denmark at the Department of Endocrinology at Rigshospitalet University Hospital (as a resident and senior researcher), with which I continue to collaborate to this day, as well as at Amager og Hvidovre University Hospital. Since October 2022, I have been a member of the faculty (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Thessaly in Larissa.
My main research interests are thyroid disorders and Fabry disease. I am a member of the editorial board of the “European Thyroid Journal” (the official journal of the European Thyroid Association) and “Hormones” (the official journal of the Hellenic Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism).
