On Friday evening, the first day of the Panhellenic Endocrinology Conference concluded with a nostalgic audiovisual presentation. This year’s “Cultural Endorama” brought back memories for attendees of historic train stations in the Peloponnese, thereby establishing a direct connection between “Endorama” to current issues in the region.
The archaeologist —historian Androniki Chrysafi—curated the program, and Sotiris Petrou, through his camera lens, brought to life Charilaos Trikoupis’s vision for the creation of a metropolitan railnetwork that would connect major cities with ports and the mountainous hinterland, ushering Greece into the industrial age.
Androniki Chrysafi, along with Paris Reze as the presenter and Sotiris Petrou as the narrator, “took” the conference attendees on a journey through time, recounting the history of the projects, while Elena Kosma, with her melodious voice and piano, provided the musical backdrop for the event with old Greek songs about trains.
After the event concluded, a reception was held in a hall at the Conference and Cultural Center of the University of Patras, where a photography exhibition featuring the railway stations of the Peloponnese was on display.
