He graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed his residency in endocrinology in 2003. Since 2003, he has held a Ph.D. from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina. Since 2003, he has been a Research Associate (Position 407) at the Laboratory for Research on Musculoskeletal Disorders (EEPMS) at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), and has served as an Academic Fellow since 2014. He is an instructor in the “Metabolic Bone Diseases” graduate program. He has authored more than 125 publications in international journals (PubMed 118. Citations: 3,606, h-index: 32, i-10 index: 67) and book chapters. He is president of EEMMO, Coordinator of the Ministry of Health’s Scientific Working Group for the completion and updating of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Prescribing Protocols for Osteoporosis and Paget’s disease, Head of the EEPMS educational program, and former Secretary General of the Hellenic Osteoporosis Foundation.
